This is the "official release" version of BAM, I.e. the version of BAM that has been tested and found to be free of bugs. This is the stable version of BAM which should be normally used.

This is the "in the works" version of BAM, I.e. the version of BAM that might have new features that are only partially implemented or not rigorously tested, or not yet documented in the BAM Programming Reference and User Guide. Use for the purpose of previewing "in the works" features (and otherwise at your own risk !)
